CYVR Install problem - Incorrect Function **SOLVED**

Hi there,
Was installing CYVR and install stopped with this error:

Creating temporary texture at 0X0 from CYVR_SF01

Incorrect Function

Any ideas?

This doesn't normally happen, there must be something wrong in your paths, folders or registry keys.

To verify this, you should run the installer in logging mode, by opening a command prompt ( Start->CMD->Enter ) and go to the folder were the installer file is located (cyvr_fsx_setup.exe) , and type the following:

cyvr_fsx_setup.exe /log=log.txt

Run the installer and wait for the error to appear. A log.txt file should have been created in the same folder. ZIP it and Attach it to a post, so I can tell you what's wrong with your system.

Hi Virtuali,

I am encountering this "Incorrect function" error when trying to install CYVR into P3D v4. Apparently, no one has bothered to create and send you the log file you requested regarding this error and so you've not been able to post a fix. Let me be the first to do so. The log file is attached.

This is actually a series of about 15 or so errors. The errors begin at 17:13:24.206 and can be found by searching on "incorrect".

Problem solved!

It appears I had downloaded 2 bad install files in a row. After posting, I tried a third download and the installation went fine.

I have the same issue only for Vacouver airport

I read this thread and redownload it just now and no luck.. I get thsi error.

There is something wrong with the Vacouver file

I managed to install pretty much everything

The O'hare I was able to install but the airport elevation is so totally out of wack... not sure what is going on with that.

This happened to me when I first tried to install CYVR to both P3d V3 and V4 at the same time. Separate installs  (only one checkbox checked)worked fine.

That didn't do either for me. v3 and v4 both failed for me with the same message of incorrect function

I'm sorry, but I cannot reproduce this error. It's possible it's caused by a bugged antivirus, that is blocking a program that is being launched to generate the textures, which is not obviously a threat, but the well known Graphic Magic open source tool, used by many websites too.

Try to install with the antivirus disabled.

I only have MS defender for win 7. I disabled that and tried.. no change.. same issue.

Then I did the following.

I completely uninstalled CYVR. and reinstalled it only for v3 (not for v4) and had the same error. And made sure the Addon folder for v4 did not exist.

I then copied (from my backup HD the CYVR folder (this was the v3 version was fully functional one time before the new file structure change. into a separate folder of my own and added it manually to the scenery.cfg.

within v4, I notice in addon manager that CYVR is installed and active.  And the CYVR is visible...all buildings etc, but the ground texture is completely black when I am close to the airport, and look ok when I am away like 20 miles out. Thought this workaround would work..but nope., I am out of ideas.

I own every single FSDT airport now and they all install, except this snarly one. And others have reported the issue.. My take would be , a new build file.

I kept hitting OK , OK to everty single popup..about 12 or so...and installed all the way to the end.

It's possible you have skipped the dialog to select one of the texture resolution options, without clicking on it ?

I have also a problem during installation of CYVR. I got additionaly an dx error message from imagetool (I will send a screenshot later).
