Problem Please Help!
« on: July 23, 2008, 02:57:56 pm »
I purchased KORD on the internet and when I went to activate it on FS9, my computer froze. I turned off FS9 and turned it back on to try it again and while it was loading, a message came up asking if I wanted to activate KORD. As soon as I clicked yes, my computer froze again and I needed to turn off FS9. This happened quite a few times and I can't get KORD working. Please Help! ???

Thanks,
John

Is not possible to diagnose your problem, without knowing anything about your system config.

Are you using Vista or XP ? Are you using a firewall ? Are you using an antivirus program ?

Windows XP, no firewall, I am using SpySweeper if that counts as an antivirus.

Nevermind, now it's back to the same problem of freezing while the game is loading.  :(

This is surely something related to wrong antivirus settings or firewall settings.

Try the following:

1) Reboot and don't launch FS9

2) manually delete the following files:

bglman.dll
bglman.dat
bglman_fsdt.dat
bglman_skymakers.dat

from the FS9\modules folder.

3) Turn off your antivirus, turn off any firewall software

4) Install the scenery.

5) Empty the Internet Explorer cache

6) DOWNLOAD and Launch the Stand Alone Addon Manager setup, verify that IS downloading the files you just deleted and is downloading without errors as soon as it gets launched.

Do exactly as I've said. Do it exactly in this order. Don't do anything else and report back.

Ok, I did everything you said in that order and I ran into no errors. What should I do now?

Launch FS9 and try ? Try putting FS9 into Windowed mode: with some video drivers, activating in full screen might create problems. Once is activated, you can return to full screen mode.

How do you go into windowed mode?

Disregard the windowed mode post. It's still not working. The splash screen will come up and a message will display asking if I want to activate O'Hare, I click yes, and then it freezes and I have to shut it off. Any suggestions?

I fixed the problem ;D thanks so much for your help! Just one last question, if I downloaded O'Hare last night, does that include the update (9.1) or should I download the update?

Sorry one last question, I tried taking screenshots from O'Hare using SimPicShot and the scenery isn't showing up in the screenshots for some reason. Do you know why this would happen?

Would this be a problem with the scenery or the screenshot program?

We don't have any problem capturing screenshots with our sceneries, as you can see in the Screenshot forum there are plenty, made by several users.

Some screen capture programs have issues with DirectX games. Try using a different one.
