Addon Manager Updates

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, I couldn't find a suitable forum.
Just wanted to ask,

1)is there anyway to see what the latest 'fixes' or changes to the Addon Manager are before installing an update?
2) having downloaded the latest standalone installer, do I just install over the top of my previous installation or is it better to remove the old one?

There's an option just for that in the update window.

You just install it. If there was any need to uninstall, we would clearly advised to do so or, more likely, did this automatically in the installer.
