Finally got Windows 7, but now GSX isnt working at all **SOLVED**

I finally got Windows 7 32 bit, and before I had the invisable stuff problem, but now I don't have the Couatl button in the Addons drop down. I installed FSX on my external hard drive (I heard if you do this FS runs faster because since its on its own drive, and there are no other files on it, it doesn't lose speed from reading through uneccesary files) and its a d: drive, and I downloaded GSX, and the Addons menu from the Add-ons drop down was there, and I put in my GSX serial, and it said everything was activated, but the Couatl menu was not in the Add-ons drop down, any help? (PS, I know this is no issue with GSX)

Are you certain everything is active?  Changing the OS is the same as changing hardware, you should've been asked to reactivate everything.

This is most likely caused by your antivirus. The correct procedure in this case is always the same:

- DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL with the antivirus entirely OFF

- Uninstall GSX. Reply YES when asked if you want to remove the Addon Manager and the Couatl Engine. Reply YES to both questions.

- TURN OFF your antivirus. Don't just exit from its interface, but turn off the real time protection. Actual wording changes between products, however, it's the option to scan every file that gets open in real time, without user intervention.

- Reinstall GSX (using the full installer in this case) with the Antivirus TURNED OFF. Don't launch FSX yet.

- Configure the antivirus to exclude the following files from scanning:

YourFSXFolder\bglmanx.dll
YourFSXFolder\fsdreamteam\Couatl\couatl.exe

YourFSXFolder it's usually C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X, if you installed it in the default folder.

- Now you can turn the antivirus back on, and launch FSX.

- Check you are seeing BOTH the "Addon Manager" menu AND the "Couatl powered products" menu under the "Addons" menu.

I completely un installed the Add-on manager and GSX, and then reinstalled it, Mr. Virutali told me to make a .ini file, and i did, and this is what it said:

I highlighted the GSX line to make it easier to find, so I'm missing a file, but I don't know what file I am missing, if I need to upload my fsdreamteam folder I will.

The log simply shows that you haven't installed GSX. Just install GSX using the full installer, and will surely work. The likely mistake, is that you uninstalled everything, then reinstalled only the Addon Manager.

You should have reinstalled GSX only (using the full installer, downloaded now from the website so you are sure you have the current version) and as explained many times already on the forum, there's no need to install the Addon Manager too if you have the most current version of the GSX full installer, because that contains all the latest Addon Manager files.

I clicked on the "FSX version Here" on the bottom of the GSX page, and now ater reading the text above it, i realized it is not the GSX installer, so my bad, currently doing a flight, so I'll get back to you in a few hours to see if it worked. Thats probably why, nithing like downloading the wrong link! lol
