you need to make sure that you are in a Heavy or Large Cargo parking spot for the 767

GSX reads the Afcad file for each airport and based on that information it "knows" if an aircraft is going to fit in a certain position. You do not give any information  what YSSY scenery you are using. ( please do so next time). I checked the default YSSY airport and there is only one gate ( 50 ) that has a radius large enough to accomodate a widebody. So based on this afcad GSX will only offer you 1 gate, provided it is empty. The afcad here is therefore wrong. Solution is not too dificult. Download ADE from http://www.airportdesigneditor.co.uk/  and edit the gates that you want to accomodate a widebody to "heavy"

Or you can do it the easy way and download a new AFCAD from Avsim. Search "Ray Smith", he is the king of Afcads.

Also GSX has options to makes changes to the afcad as explained in the manual. When arriving at the gate and using option 6 you are offered various options. For your YSSY case: change to a smaller plane and go to the gate that you feel should be able to accommodate your 767 and update the gate with the radius that you have in gate 50.

Not exactly. The Left/Right radius that can be set in GSX controls only the visual placement of vehicles on the left/right side of the airplane, overriding the radius in the AFCAD. But the airplane restriction radius is always the original one so, in order to lift a size restriction, the AFCAD must be edited.
