Afterburner "boom" sound
« on: October 05, 2012, 01:51:45 am »
Hello,  how can i get rid of the afterburner boom sound? I find it highly unrealistic and annoying. The F-106 was the only one with a "hard light" on the burner, the F-4 increased it's roar significantly, but no boom.  I looked in the sound folder but found no such file in there, can anyone help with this? Thanks!

There's a "Cloud9 sounds" folder inside the Aircraft folder, the wave is called "SONICBOOM.WAV", but you can't just remove it, you can only edit with a sound editor to make it less loud (or even mute) but it must be there, otherwise the airplane will start with an error.

Thanks for the reply, but I was referring to the boom sound when afterburner is selected, not the sonic boom of breaking the sound barrier. Or is it the same sound file?
