Hello,

I have reinstalled FSX and Zurich FSDT for FSX: I am now very surprised to see that while the aircraft holds short the runway, the grass texture looks blurred and there is no volumetric grass. I use to have this before on my previous install...

I have a i7 2700K, GTX 580, FSX on a Kingston SSD so top end system.

I use a standard CFG file except BP=0, Affinity mask 14 and Bufferpool=0.15.   If I delete the BP line, nothing changes so it does not come from the cfg file.

Thank you
Greg

What's wrong with your "no support provided" ? You posted on holidays, you just can't demand support being available 24/7 on weekends and holidays too.

About your problem, which wasn't a Zurich problem to begin with:

1) the blurred grass textures doesn't have anything to do with the scenery and with your FSX settings but, it's likely caused by a wrong video card setting. Texture quality is affected mostly by the Anisotropic filter, use a setting that would force 8x or 16x, don't use the application controlled setting. Of course, you can't expect going very close to the grass and see it sharp: those textures were never meant to be seen very close, but with a normal external view distance.

2) Zurich scenery never had "volumetric" grass to begin with, if such thing ever exists in FSX, since volumetric grass is a fancy term for "multiple layers of 2d grass", not a real 3d grass made with shaders like in more advanced graphic engines. We never had such thing, there's only 1 layer of grass that goes around the border of the grass patches on ground, and that's it.

Hello,
Actually the grass border is what I meant.  I can see it anymore. Anistotropic is set to 16x in the Nvidia inspector.

Thank you for your help

You mean you can't see it at all, or it's blurred ?

We found what was it, if you download and install the Stand-Alone Addon Manager (no need to download it if it's fairly recent), it will update the scenery and fix the problem.
