The advantage of having a platform around for several years, is that forces developers into creative thinking trying to overcome its limitations.

I watched some of Justplanes' Air Canada 77L DVD and the approach and take off from Vancouver was so interesting! Can't wait either!

Check out the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_llyS20J0Ac

I really hope you would consider doing Sydney! The video has a lot of terminal shots, if you buy the DVD you'll get a lot of detail.

But until then I can't wait to fly Westjet in and out of YVR! Flights to Honolulu and Maui sure will be interesting!

I've been looking for a good quality Canadian airport for fsx and a bigger airport in the Orbx PNW, compared to the smaller fields they released so far.

This is gonna be amazing!

Virtuali,
Well, I'm glad to see that its been more than just my *nagging* that got you guys to put this out of your "development drawers"  Grin ...
After seeing these textures and that of the KLAX's package, i must ask; can you get Chicago's O'Hare X's ground textures to look as good as this as well?

All that's needed next is to wait for the payware version of GSX along with its add-on goodies (Bush, military, etc.) to complete these tremendous circle of upgrades and we're in business. Smiley

Everything can obviously made, it's not that the Chicago area would prevent to create high quality textures. But it's likely we'll do KJFK first.

The military theme is surely of great interest, but we believe a General Aviation and a Cargo theme should come first.

That's funny, I have kind of always liked your ORD's ground textures! Now after the update it looks really nice!

But JFK needs some updated ground textures, so that sounds great!

VancouverPlus 2.0 for FSX . Its a great addon to get if you are thinking about getting FSDT Vancover airport. I already got it and it all looks pretty good. jon Patch has a 3.0 comming out soon and along with Orbx it all makes for some very real scenery.

This is something we had to explain every time a new scenery is announced. After the first base ground layout, were we can post meaningful screenshots, it comes the long and boring part of adding taxilines, ground details, vertical signs, etc. that aren't really useful for exciting screenshots and this phase might last even a couple of months.

So, invariably, after the first screenshots are published, there's a long waiting time between the next screenshots, which usually come after we start the main 3d modeling, were people start asking why we haven't published any screenshots, so we need to come out with this explanation...

As a Vancouverite who flies into/out of YVR a few times every month and a simmer based out of YVR, I can hardly wait for this add-on. If FSDT’s other recent airports is any indication of what we can expect from this project, this can be the best add-on I’ll ever buy.

How about cutting Umberto a break?  They don't use Instant Scenery, it takes a good nine months to do a large airport.

Gentlemen,

Just out of curiosity, when you guys talk about updating ORD and JFK, how extensive of an upgrade are we talking? More specifically, the new 'technique' FSDT employed with KLAX that allowed a severe reduction in the number of BGLs required is just short of a godsend for FSX. I'm still amazed at how well LAX runs on my computer, even with the NGx, UT, etc. It's the fastest airport I have despite being one of the larger and busier ones, it's also the nicest looking. Given the success of this method I am assuming it will be employed with Vancouver and all other projects going forward. But when it comes to the existing sceneries such as ORD and JFK, will they be completely torn down and rebuilt using this new method or are talking more about simply some textures upgrades? The thought of having ORD and JFK (which already run very well) run with the speed of LAX is a very exciting possibility.

Thanks guys.

Understood. My apologies. Just excited about this one.
