FSX Vehicle Paths
« on: February 05, 2012, 11:06:34 am »
In an FSX AFD file you can create vehicle paths for where default airport vehicles like the fuel trucks etc move on the apron.

If I define these in an a AFD file, will GSX follow these lines?

Regards.

Absolutely, and in fact it's best if your AFCAD has them, because it minimize the chance of clashing between ground vehicles and AI. GSX vehicles give an higher preference to vehicle paths, even if the path using taxiways would have been shorter.

Similarly, vehicles that are not tied to a parking ( Follow Me, Catering and Refuel tank) are created on a parking of the vehicle type, but if there are none, or the closest one is too far from your place, they'll start on a regular parking.

So, a best practice would be putting enough vehicle paths to allow vehicles to reach any parking, and some parkings of the vehicle and fuel type, spread apart around the airport.

Just bought it and fantatic work, though a few little questions if possible;

Do you plan on allowing a feature where the user can decided certain elements, for example, when I board and deboard te aircraft, the baggage truck comes as does the bus, but for this particular airport, there's no buses used in real life and the animated doesn't fit very well on the small airport - sits in the building, would it be possible to remove the model file for the bus? - and baggage carts on the left of the aircraft? (Or perhaps allowing the use of custom models made by the user?)

The other thing was, is there supposed to be seperate vehicles for each part of the world? Again, Plymouth in the image above (UK) has the american style fuel truck.

Many thanks for your time.

This has been already discussed in many other threads already: we are working on an upgrade that will allow users to customize each parking, and global settings that will control if GSX will *ask* or not certain services like stairs and passenger bus, when you don't have time to customize.

Yes, but we have only one Fuel truck right now, the most varied are the Catering, but the object library will be surely expanded.

Also, we are releasing a PaintKit very shortly, so you'll be able to add your own companies and specify were they'll operate.
