« on: January 31, 2012, 05:20:17 am »
This excellent freeware secenery was just released for CYVR.

http://jgabbert.wordpress.com/

It is great (and free)...

EDIT: It's for FS9, forgot to mention it. He won't convert it for FSX because FSDT is doing Vancouver.

Does it run on FSX, even if it's for FS9?

Most FS9 uers here will likely wait to see if FSDT gives them a version, just to have AES.

I highly doubt FSDT will do CYVR for FS9...

Doesn't matter to me either way, I dropped FS9 totally a few months back... and the dev of the free version claims to be in contact with Oliver about AES, which gives Umberto one more reason to not do it. Guess we'll see what happens.

Let's be real here. Look at the number of downloads on Avsim alone. With those kind of numbers for a product that's FS9 only. I think it's very possible Umberto will consider an FS9 version of CYVR. And because it will be the second time for the new backport process, it could very well be a lot quicker to backport than KLAX. I am sure Umberto will give it very good consideration when the time comes.

Please DO NOT start talking about an FS9 version of CYVR.

It's not really the time now lots of things will change in the next month, and we said many times already we'll *never* (ever) support 3 different sim platforms.

If we'll understand better what's the 3rd party situation with MS Flight will be at THAT time, there's now way we could release something for 4 platforms ( FS9, FSX, Prepar3D and MS Flight).

KLAX port for FS9 was in doubt even some days after KLAX was released for FSX, which is why it's entirely useless to discuss it now.

Umberto, have U ever consider doing Xp10? I mean, P3D and FSX is almost the same, so it's ok if you will make for 2 platforms like P3D/FSX and XP10 in the future.

Hi frank its just the way they made xp10 not easy for them to work with, scenery wise and with the add-on manger/coutel.
