Looks good so far I wonder if there gonna make the opening in June 27, 2012   not that many photos yet of the terminal which is not good for reference and recreating it in 3d, my guess would be after all the updates are done and maybe fsdt can maybe do it next year? I'm willing to pay for the extra work if possible. it seems all these airports are getting new construction.

Why couldn't Klas new terminal be incorporated into an update like they did in Zurich?

Why couldn't Klas new terminal be incorporated into an update like they did in Zurich?

We haven't said anything about updating KLAS, and how it will be eventually handled or made, and we won't even start looking into the issue until we have done the JFK update, which will start not before we'll released CYVR, which means that we won't deal with KLAS before the 4th quarter 2012. At that point, we'll see how the airport status will be, and decide in what form doing an eventual update.

That's why it's not very useful discussing/speculating about it today.

I live in Vegas and saw the new terminal almost done yesterday as I drove by, so just though about inquiring about it. Thanks for the info

Hey guys,

I work at Las Vegas' McCarran International Airport. Out here the new terminal is pretty big news at the Airport and I got the chance to pull out my phone and snap some pictures without anyone noticing. (Or, caring, rather.) :p

Anyways, I was at T3 a while ago and decided to take some pictures because I know we have some pilots here that fly in and out of Vegas, and I figured they'd love to see what it's all about. Sorry about the quality, took it with a cell phone. The terminal itself is pretty nifty. It's 2 levels, Zero Level and Floor 2. (Floor 1 is the entrance shown in the picture below, which has elevators on either side leading to floors 2 and 0. Nothing else makes up floor 1.) Zero Level will make up Baggage Claim and Customs, Floor 2 will make up the International and Domestic Gates (1 through 15, skipping Gate 13 all together, to make 14 total gates).

Upstairs at Level 1 (I apologize for the blurry picture. I was walking when I took this one, so fail on my part) you can see the LONG corridor of the Terminal. All in all it's a giant, massive walkway from E1 to E15 running in a straight line. It's probably a good 2500 feet, but don't quote me.

The International Section has some sweet Asian sit-down restaurants being built. I didn't take any more pictures of upstairs because the TSA screening managers were looking at me funny and I didn't want to get jumped. So instead I went out to the ramp. Here's a shot of Obama's Jet sitting in the Cargo area off the way. He stayed only for 95 minutes.

D Gates, where I (normally) work is right across from T3. Most the airlines from D will be moving to T3, leaving most the Bell (Nickname of one of the 4 arms of the D Gates) empty.

One of the new spiffy Gates. Noticed the sign at the top is scratched out. (I think it used to say 58) It'll soon say E4.

Interesting Fact here: Unlike the A, B, C, and D Gates (and T2) each gate at T3 (all 14 of them) can handle a 747-400. (Rumors are true!) - Now only E1 and E15 can handle an A380 (At least, they are the only two gates with the ''A380 Certified!" sticker on them.) but since few A380 operators fly to Vegas we won't worry about it.

FAA tower under construction in this view. Now, T3 is supposed to open and have its first official flight on June 27th - Anyone wanna hold bets on if they'll finish the Tower before then? ;)
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y143/ssj14vegetajr/LAS5.png

That pretty much ends the tour. I made it back to the parking garage above the AB Concourse in time to see Obama take off but I couldn't grab a shot in time. Instead, I'll leave you with a nice shot from the roof - I think it's a better view than the ramp, eh? [Yes guys, this picture is of Terminal 2. Its last flight is June 28th, after that they're going to blow it up!]

Hope you enjoyed, now back to work for me. :(

If you guys at FSDT ever want any shots from the ramp area, just e-mail me.

I wish I would have seen this earlier since I am in "the know", I would have taken that bet.  We wont be in the new building until 2015.

If an update for KLAS is completed due to the changes at the airport, I would love to see DX10 Support in an upgraded project.  With the new DX10 fixes, accomplished by many users in our hobby (fixes are on AVSIM), the problems with flashing runways, anti aliasing, stuttering and others issues are fixed, so the DX10 crowd has really grown in FSX and the sim has much improved frame rate in DX10 for most users.  I would gladly pay for an upgrade.  Thank you for considering this.

I'm deliberately posting here since this is still a valid request... I'd still like to see LAS T3 in FDDT's FSX scenery. Please re-evaluate if it can be done in the near future.

I don't see were we said it wouldn't be done. My last message said we would look into it after the JFK update will be released. The JFK update is what we are working on right now. As explained other times in the forum, we are updating existing sceneries in chronological order, which is why the first update was Zurich, then O'Hare, then JFK. KLAS will be the next candidate for an update, after JFK.

The good news about LAS is that... JFK v2 was released, so we are one step closer to KLAS T3!

 ;D

FSDT, keep up the good work!

Thanks and Cheers

I'm with FlyingOger. I currently own all of FSDT's Hawaiian airports + Geneva, and I thought that I would wait to buy the Las Vegas scenery once the T3 update came out. Been through the new terminal at least twice already, so can't wait to see it in FSX at my home airport :)
