Runway Texturing
« on: January 04, 2012, 12:56:41 am »
Dallas and Los Angele by FSDreamteam are the best FS sceneries out there, and one of the huge reasons are the ground textures. More specifically, runway textures. As stated in the Zurich support forum, FSDT will be in fact producing a payware update with the new runway texturing technology ("Ground Shaders"), and I simply can't wait! Chicago and JFK are both amazing sceneries, with the exception of the runway textures. Taxiways are great, buildings are great, animations are great but the runway textures are not the best in FS. Watching landing videos and maps, the runways are different shades than simply grey and white. Anyways, a response would be great (I know that they are doing a full texturing update on JFK, O'Hare next?) and can't wait for CYVR! Happy New Year! ;D ;D :)

We see upgrading all our sceneries to Ground shaders technology in the future, but it will take time. The first one to get this treatment will likely be JFK, but it happen only after we released CYVR.

Come to think about it, we are like Intel, using a "Tic-Toc" working schedule:

Tic = Release a big new scenery ( es. KLAX )
Toc = Update some of the old sceneries ( es. O'Hare and Zurich updates we just released )
Tic = Release a big new scenery ( es. CYVR )
Toc = Update some of the old sceneries ( es. JFK, O'Hare and Zurich with ground shaders )
