No RWY Lights
« on: November 20, 2011, 02:01:29 am »
Guys,

For some reason I have no RWY lights at KLAS now.

Thanks.

KLAS runways lights are standard FSX lights, made with the AFCAD so, if you don't see them, the most likely cause is another AFCAD in conflict coming from another product.

Use the free FSX Airport Scanner program to search for AFCAD duplicates.

I've tried the scanner but it does not find any dups.  Not sure if it's even scanning properly or if I have the right boxes checked.

I just tried a complete removal and reinstall and still no luck.  I'm really not sure what's going on.

Have you installed some kind of 3rd party tool that modify/enhances the default lights ?

I have Active Sky Evolution.  I tried changing those setting back but no luck.  For some reason all your other sceneries I have respond well and have no issues.

I wonder if you have a replacement halo file or something I can place in the KLAS texture directory?

Thanks.

We don't change anything in the default runway light textures, we just use whatever is there in your FSX installation and, as I've said, KLAS doesn't have custom runway lights, they are plain standard AFCAD ones so, basically, they really can't fail.

Note that not all runways at KLAS have approach lights, only the 25's and 1L do, the rest don't have any approach lights other than PAPIs, check the charts.

I'm just talking about the RWY light themselves.

I'm pretty sure it has to do with X Graphics....I just can't find a setting that works at add on airports.  I wish there was someway to get back default texures for those airports only.  I have a feeling they've been overwritten so many times that there is no way to get it looking good again.  Now my KLAX surface lights look 10 feet high...LOL

Well, I have the same problem with taxiway and runway lighting. I have US Cities Las Vegas, but it is lower priority than FSDT KLAS. And, I have run AIrport Scanner and disabled the duplicate AF2_KLAS.bgl file from Aerosoft (by changing the extension to off). This was the first time I tried a night flight and was surprised at the results. See the below pictures. I am running Win 7 Pro 64bit, ATI Radeon 4870 graphics.

Is there anyway we could work to troubleshoot this issue?

Thx,

Peter
