EHAM / LSZH
« on: October 19, 2011, 06:41:17 pm »
Hi there,

I have installed FS2004 on a new system running Win7 64bit.
All Add-on programs sceneries and all installed smoothly,
big surprise..
As last Airport scenery I Installed LSZH (I bought 3 years back
from cloud9) Also this install went as expected smoothly.
That is till I restarted the FS2004.
Instead of installing the scenery into the FS2004 library as usual,
it tried to activate several Cloud9 product keys from software
I do not have installed.
After this process I got a message saying my installed EHAM scenery is not up to date and therefore FS2004 will exit.
Lovely!!
My EHAM scenery is up to date, because if I'm not mistaken
the last update included the possibility to accommodate AES,
I have installed.
I solved my EHAM problem by deleting the LSZH install,
the installer itself I think version 1.8 and finally deleting all wrongly installed activation keys.
Now I still want to install LSZH!! How to work my way around this mishap?
Thank you,
David.

Install first everything from Cloud9, then everything from FSDT, then the Stand-Alone Addon manager for FS9, then Register Serial for each scenery that needs activation.

Thank you, It works partly.
I looked first at some other threads to make sure the subject is not covered already,
I have the Add-on manager on the FS9 bar, activation is grayed out, serial no. is grayed out meaning the software has been activated.
No buildings! And I have used the latest add-on manager from the FSDT website.
If the problem has been covered already except my apologies and please point me to the tight thread.
Thank you very much

Have the sceneries being added to the Scenery Library automatically ? If not, they would not show but, it seems to indicate you had an error in your scenery.cfg which prevented the installation, but you should have seen error message during the installation.

Another reasons why you wouldn't see buildings, is that you are not using current installers for the sceneries, but you should have seen a message about your scenery not being current when starting FS9.

I checked the product page and noticed that the FS9 version is compatible up to Vista 32 bit, Iam running a Win 7 64bit system.
Is this the problem?

All our sceneries runs in Vista 7 64, that's what we all use now.

Sorry, but if the Addon Manager is running, is saying the scenery is active, and the scenery is in the Scenery Library, it HAS to work.

What do you mean with "finally deleting all wrongly installed activation keys." ? It's not possible to insert a wrong key by mistake, the Addon Manager wouldn't accept it, and it would be left in Trial mode, letting you typing it correctly.

We have gone back to square 1?
I explained what has happened after installing Zurich,
having EHAM working perfectly together with AES then after having installed Zurich
the installer started:
"Instead of installing the scenery into the FS2004 library as usual,
it tried to activate several Cloud9 product keys from software
I do not have installed."
Those keys I deleted leaving only the key for EHAM.
You then wrote me to install first all Cloud9 products (I only got EHAM),
then to install all FSDT products. As last installing the standalone installer.
After that I started FS2004 and did the activation for Zurich.
Than I found out that Zurich has been bombed flat and no buildings left standing.
Can you think of something else that can solve this mystery?
Sorry to be a pain and thanks so far
David

What do you mean with this ? As I've said, the Addon Manager will not accept an invalid key OR a key for another product, you can only insert the correct key.

If it's wrong, it will NOT BE SAVED, and the scenery will still be in Trial mode.

As I've said, this simply can't happen because, since keys that are not valid are NOT saved in the registry, there isn't any need to delete them in the first place.

So, you are surely must have done something *else* you are not saying here. It's best to continue via email, so we can check all your orders and your activation status.

Yes there was something I was not telling you, I did try to install the software I saved 3 years ago.
It hit me that the problem might be the simple fact I got an old version.
I downloaded the published version on your website and no problems everything works as irt should.
Thank you very much for your dedicated help and I for one have learned something.
Enjoy. David
