Runway Approach Lights
« on: September 24, 2011, 11:16:10 pm »
I had Blueprint LAX installed prior to FSDT LAX. The runway approach lights on FSDT were yellow poles with only one flashing light on top. I was wondering if I am seeing this because of the Blueprint scenery, or because it is part of the FSDT scenery. If it's part of FSDT, I was wondering why the approach lights do not look like the Cloud9 LAX approach lights: orange, with five steady lights on top and one white flashing light (this is the way they are in real life). Thanks.

They are supposed to be yellow (deep yellow, you can call it orange as well...), with 5 steady lights and one flashing white strobe. However, on the first rows have 5 lights, the one farther away from the runway are shorter with only one flashing light.

I am at LAX right now, and I have looked at the lights. For 24R, the lights crossing the parking lot, Lot C, have five steady lights across the top. There is not light with just one strobing light. Only 25R and 24L have that because they are primarily used for takeoff. 25L and 24L have a full set of lights with five steady lights and one flashing light as I described above. I can try to take a picture for you with my iPad if you like.

I found this picture of a 24R approach online. A you can see, the large set of five lights goes all the way through the parking lot.

Here is 25L. It's kind of hard to tell, but of you zoom in, you can see five white dots above each pole. Make sure your viewing the full size photo on flickr.

Sorry, I checked only 7L/R. They are not the same approach lights. All the runways with the MASLR type are correct, it's the ones with the ALSF-II that aren't, at least in the final part. We'll have a look at it.

Yes, this is correct. All the other runways look very real, it's just the lights for 24R and 25L. Other than that, i love this scenery. It's great.
