Runway bleed through on textures:
« on: May 09, 2011, 05:46:47 pm »
Just made a flight from KLWB to  FSDT KDFW.

Everything looked great until I was about 2 1/2 miles out on my final approach to Rwy 17L.

Suddenly, the runway began to grow grass and increase in height slightly until as my approach and touchdown continued, all runways were replaced with raised grass runways.

Based on another thread in this forum, I tried increasing my framerates to unlimited and tried a flight from KLIT to KDFW. Same thing. As you can see by my specs below, I am useing the latest video drivers.

I have all of the DF airports set as the highest (i.e. 1,2.3. etc.) locations in my library. I do use Ultimate Terrain, USRoads, and FSGenesis but they are formated below the DF airports.

I do not see this with any other airport, including the other DF locations.

My System Specs. are listed below:

Any ideas?

Respectfully:

Does it looks like this ?

If yes, it's a wrong configuration of your video card, which affects textures clarity. Open your video card control panel, and set the Anisotropic filter at 16x, and you'll get a big improvement.

If not, it might be a problem caused by a duplicate AFCAD, that has a slightly different altitude setting.

They usually come with AI Traffic packages, and you can use the free FSX Airport Scanner program to find AFCAD duplicates, and remove them.

Thanks for the kind and prompt reply Umberto:

As usual, another short between the ears.

1. Checked my Anisotropic filter setting, it was at 16X as you recommended.
2. Ran the FS9 Airport Scanner and everything looked fine there.
3. Thinking I might have a corrupt file, began moving partial sceneries to my desktop on a trial and error basis by process of elimination. No luck.
4. Finally with just about everything removed, saw a second runway superimposed on my DF runway.
5. When I installed the first FSDT airports I removed all duplicate files, but sure nuff, when I later purchased and installed KDFW, I forgot that I already had an old SimFlyers KDFW already installed. Removed it, and everything is beautiful.

A screenshots of what I was seeing before removing the duplicate airport installation are attached.

Thanks again and sorry for the false alarm:
