Damn! This just looks amazing... this could actually make me switch to FSX Cheesy

Just curious here, Umberto...
What specs is the computer, you using to create these previews? Animation/quality looks very smooth!

Thanks again, for the 'sneak-peak'...

Switch.. I did & its well worth it.. The ground actually looks wet when it rains, Its awsome.. I like it better than FS9..  I could never go back to FS9 now.. I love FSX.. It has so much more to offer than FS9.. Just gotta make sure to do like I did & thats save your money & buy you a top of the line PC that will handle all the graphics & scenery & so on..

I have a Gateway with an i5 Intel Core Processor, 8 GB ram, 1 TB hard Drive, NIVIDIA graphics card.. I made sure to spruce mine up before switching over...  I'm getting all my airplanes together.. Its a slow tideous process getting built back up but Lord I'm going to have so much more fun with this one than I did with FS9 & I had alot of fun with that one.. This one though offers so much more & much more realism... Trust me.. Switch, you'll be happy you did..  Smiley

Well... I have actually made the switch... Finally! Cheesy

The only thing that kinda bothers me, is that I have to purchase many of the addons again (some of them, included an FSX version, but I really miss e.g Level-D 767)... But I'll come around - in due time...

/A little off-topic here... Sorry! But I'm just mystified...

I'm just having a weird problem with DirectX 9 in FSX - with DirectX 10 enabled, the FPS is very nice! Around 25-30 steady... but when "deactivating" DirectX 10 and only running with DirectX 9, I get around 3-5 FPS... I can't make out, what the reason for this could be... the only reason for using DirectX 9 only, was ENBSeries... I've tried with DX9 and with/without ENBSeries - with the same results...

My computer specs are the following:

Core i5-2500K (overclocked to 4.9 Ghz)
4GB DDR3 1600 Mhz Kingston
ASUS P6P67 motherboard
ASUS GTX460 1GB

Anybody else experienced this?

On topic:
Really looking forward to GSX!
Looks very promising! Smiley

How would that work with a aircraft such as the MD80, or even smaller the CRJ900??

I don't think they bother with CRJ's anyway... I don't ever remember seeing an LSG truck pulling up next to a CRJ before.. Most airlines don't deal with food unless its a over seas trip anymore. Mostly they stock the bigger planes with snacks & drinks & thats about it anymore.. So really I don't think there would be any need in calling for a service truck to service a CRJ.. Just my opinion though if you want to be realistic about it.. If anything just restock on Pop & coffee & light snacks if any at that..

You forgot alcohol.  They serve salty snacks for a reason.   Wink

It's been awhile since I have been on a flight. However I have checked various airline websites to see what they offer during flight(depending on the length) of the trip.
In any event I decide to fly again, I'll know what to look foward to in meals or snacks. Smiley

I remember the first time I flew back in the early 80's. I went on PSA from KTUS to KLAX. Pretty short flight, but back in those days I was served a whole meal. Think the choice was between chicked or beef, and the food wasn't bad. Then slowly thru the years the meals got smaller, then it turned into honey roated peanuts and a coke. Pretty much what it is these days, although I on a flight I was on recently, we got the soda but not even the nut or cracker, haha.

Now, I usually just get a meal to go in the airport from Chili's or something and take it on the plane with me. I always get dirty looks from others seated near me when the get a whif of the food. I can tell they are hungry and probably wish they had picked up something to eat as well.

You're probably lucky you don't get mugged for your lunch, or booted from the plane. That's a no no.  Wink

Why would I get booted from the plane? I've never heard that you cant bring food on board.

In fact, every time I have done it the flight attendants have seen me walk past them when I boarded with a takeout container full of food and not one has ever said a word. I've also boarded with Starbucks coffee, sodas, snacks, etc, and no one has ever said anything. I would figure if its agains the rules someone would have stopped me by now as many times as I have done it.

It is not against the rules.  I don't know why Bruce said it is a "no no" but no airline, at least in the U.S., has any rules prohibiting you buying something in the terminal beyond security and bringing it on with you.  If the flight is around a typical meal time for me, I'll usually grab something to bring on the aircraft.  Better than "feasting" on pretzels or peanuts or, in many cases, nothing. I even make stuff at home and then bring it on the plane to eat later. Outside/terminal food definitely has been and still is allowed on all of the US and non US carriers I have ever flown on.

You know, I thought you could do that as long as you weren't bringing a drink (although baby formula/food and medically necessary items are always okay) through security but I couldn't remember and it is always easier for me to just buy something in the terminal.

From what I've been told in the past, food and/or beverage purchased on the secured side of the terminal needs to be consumed before boarding.  To the best of my knowledge, this is the policy at the airport where I work, maybe others are more lax in their enforcement.  In any case, I think it is rude unless you bring enough to share.   Wink

That is true, I usually only pack sandwiches but the rule is any liquid over 3.4 ounces is not allowed to be carried on.

How so?  They had the opportunity to purchase food before boarding and obviously chose not to.  Not my fault that I'm hungry.

Didn't your parents ever teach you that it is rude to eat in front of other people?   Grin

I would have to agree. Everyone else has the same chance to buy food outside the plane just like I did, if they choose not to eat, so be it, that's their  prerogative to eat or not.

As far as the comment Bruce made about not eating in front of everyone, I agree that in some cases its rude, but when I am in a public place, I will let that go and do what I need to do. Perhaps if it was in front of a bunch of friends or family I would not eat unless the rest were eating or I had enough for everyone, but frankly I dont care about what 200 other stangers think about me eating a burger on the a/c. Maybe it will give them something to consider the next time they fly and know that a meal wont be served aboard.
