Missing Buildings
« on: December 19, 2010, 10:13:13 am »
Hello everybody

I bought yesterday KLAS for FSX and I don't have any building.
I see the "Add-on Manager" in FSX but I don't see Couatl menu.

I check twice or more the FSX.cfg and DLL.xml, I delete FSX.CFG but no changes.

I try to install product with antivirus disabled.

I look to %APPDATA%\VIRTUALI but there is not error file

I'm lost and disappointed

Thanks in advance for your help

It's not enough to install with the antivirus off, you have to do this:

- Uninstall the scenery. Reply YES when asked if you want to remove the Addon Manager and the Couatl Engine. Reply YES to both questions.

- TURN OFF your antivirus. Don't just exit from its interface, but turn off the real time protection. Actual wording changes between products, however, it's the option to scan every file that gets open in real time, without user intervention.

- Reinstall the scenery with the Antivirus TURNED OFF. Don't launch FSX yet.

- Configure the antivirus to exclude the following files from scanning:

YourFSXFolder\bglmanx.dll
YourFSXFolder\fsdreamteam\couatl.exe

YourFSXFolder it's usually C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X, if you installed it in the default folder.

- Now you can turn the antivirus back on, and launch FSX.

- Check you are seeing BOTH the "Addon Manager" menu AND the "Couatl powered products" menu under the "Addons" menu.

Hello

I disabled antivirus and I exclude all the folder of FSX.
I uninstall all products (ie Add-On Manager and Couatl)
I reinstall
and I enabled antivirus.

Still the same problem, I don't have Couatl Menu.
When I launch "manually" the product on FSX\fsdreamteam\couatl\couatl.exe nothing append !

I disabled antivirus and I exclude all the folder of FSX.

It's not sure that, by excluding the whole FSX folder, the antivirus will not scan subfolders anyway. Please, do as instructed, and explicitly exclude the following files:

YourFSXFolder\bglmanx.dll
YourFSXFolder\fsdreamteam\couatl.exe

You have to do the whole procedure explained above: Uninstall, reply YES to both questions about removing Addon Manager and Couatl, turn the antivirus OFF, reinstall with the antivirus OFF, configure the antivirus as above BEFORE launching FSX, then turn the antivirus back on.

Check you ARE being asked permission both the Addon Manager and Couatl (both files) and authorize BOTH.

Just to be sure, download the *current* version of the Stand-Alone Addon Manager, and do the whole procedure with it, maybe something is not updated on your system.

Hi

I try your tips but it doesn't work again.
I uninstall all your product, I disable my antivirus (Avast) and reinstall product.
I enable Avast and run FSX.

I authorise your two products but there is no more building and I have only "Add-on manager" menu not "Couatl"

Please, re-read my previous post carefully. This is not enough, you need to configure the antivirus to exclude the following files from scanning:

YourFSXFolder\bglmanx.dll
YourFSXFolder\fsdreamteam\couatl.exe

Before turning it on.

Hi,

I configure my antivirus to exclude two folders:
...\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\ and
...\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\fsdreamteam\couatl

But I don't have "Couatl powered products" in add-on menu of FSX.

Your two DLL are authorised. I don't know what to do

...\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\fsdreamteam\couatl

But I don't have "Couatl powered products" in add-on menu of FSX.

I haven't said to exclude two folders. I've said to exclude two files, specifically. Do it again, do the following, to the letter.

This might have been caused by having closed FSX and relaunched it too fast, not allowing it to close cleanly. A Windows reboot should fix this.

After a reboot, check you are seeing BOTH the "Addon Manager" menu and the "Couatl powered products" menu under the Addons menu. If you don't have them, it's most likely caused by the antivirus, in this case, do this:

- Uninstall the scenery. Reply YES when asked if you want to remove the Addon Manager and the Couatl Engine. Reply YES to both questions.

- TURN OFF your antivirus. Don't just exit from its interface, but turn off the real time protection. Actual wording changes between products, however, it's the option to scan every file that gets open in real time, without user intervention.

- Reinstall the scenery with the Antivirus TURNED OFF. Don't launch FSX yet.

- Configure the antivirus to exclude the following FILES (not folders) from scanning:

YourFSXFolder\bglmanx.dll
YourFSXFolder\fsdreamteam\Couatl\Couatl.exe

- Now you can turn the antivirus back on, and launch FSX.

- Check you are seeing BOTH the "Addon Manager" menu AND the "Couatl powered products" menu under the "Addons" menu.

If you don't see BOTH the Addon Manager AND the Couatl menu, the scenery won't work. It's not enought to just configure the antivirus to exclude the couatl folder (beside, I've said to exclude the couatl.exe), you have to INSTALL with the antivirus turned OFF, otherwise it will block the couatl installation.

Have you uninstalled the scenery replying YES when asked if you want to remove the Addon Manager and the Couatl Engine. Replied YES to both questions ?

When you reinstall after this, have you been asked permission to run Couatl exe ? Yes or no ? If yes, have you replied Yes to both questions ?

What do you mean with "start this product" ? The Couatl.exe is not something you start, it's started automatically by FSX. However, if you start it manually, it will also not work.

Be sure you haven't started it manually by mistake. Check your task manager (right-click on the Task bar and select the Task manager, then select the "processes" tab) and, if you see any couatl.exe running, close it and try again. Or, reboot Windows, which WAS included in my previous instruction and, don't try to start couatl.exe manually.

When I uninstall product, I remove Add-On Manager and Couatl Engine.

After installing KLAS, FSX asks me to run Virtuali Add-On manager and Couatl...
I authorized both but Couatl Menu is not appeared.
In Process Manager I never had Couatl.exe

It's best to activate the Simconnect diagnostic mode to understand what's going on, this way:

Open Notepad, and copy the following text:

Code: [Select]
[SimConnect]
level=verbose
console=1
RedirectStdOutToConsole=1
OutputDebugString=1
; file=c:\simconnect%03u.log
; file_next_index=0
; file_max_index=9

Save the file as SIMCONNECT.INI in this folder:

Documents And Settings\YOUR LOGIN NAME\Documents\Microsoft Flight Simulator X Files

At the next FSX launch, you should see a text window with diagnostic messages: the FIRST 5-6 lines are important: you should try to note what they are saying. If the screen scroll too fase, you can use the Pause key on your keyboard, to be able to read the first lines.
