I understand you guys have began an update for ORD and I'm thrilled by the news! But will the update be for FS9 as well as for FSX?

Yes, the update will be for both versions, will be released after the Zurich update, we are going to update almost all sceneries, starting from the oldest one so Zurich, then KORD, KJFK, etc...
