The addon manage version is 2.7 which i suspect would be current because I bought KDFW a few days back and it recognizes KDFW.
Ah not sure if ur talking about the update for KDFW itself, but I just saw it at the top of the forum so I'm going to install it and see if the problem is resolved

Installed the update and problem solved. However another issue came up though it's doesn't really affect flight it seems. There seems to be an elevation issue, where the product meets the default scenery. The cars seem to float on the road that seperates the two, road traffic everywhere else seems fine. I doesn't affect my AI so I am not two worried about it. Just a heads up.

Thanks for the support, it's greatly appreciated.

I tried to install KDFW again. I followed the proper procedure. I uninstalled the previous version saying yes to both questions for addon mgr and couati. then I restarted FSX and then I downloaded the new version of the scenery from the website. this time I got no scenery at all when I ran FSX.

The usual questions:

- Do you see the "Addon Manager" menu under "Addons" ?

- Do you see the "Couatl powered products" menu under "Addons" ?

If not, the most likely cause it's almost always the antivirus so, you should do this, exactly this, don't skip any step:

- Uninstall the scenery. Reply YES when asked if you want to remove the Addon Manager and the Couatl Engine. Reply YES to both questions.

- REBOOT Windows! (please DO IT)

- TURN OFF your antivirus. Don't just exit from its interface, but turn off the real time protection. Actual wording changes between products, however, it's the option to scan every file that gets open in real time, without user intervention.

- Reinstall the scenery with the Antivirus TURNED OFF. Don't launch FSX yet.

- Configure the antivirus to exclude the following files from scanning:

YourFSXFolder\bglmanx.dll
YourFSXFolder\fsdreamteam\couatl.exe

YourFSXFolder it's usually C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X, if you installed it in the default folder.

- Now you can turn the antivirus back on, and launch FSX.

- Check you are seeing BOTH the "Addon Manager" menu AND the "Couatl powered products" menu under the "Addons" menu.

I am really confused now.
I started the scenery in FSX in order to check and make sure the couati products and addon mgr were in the addons menu and I noticed that all of the scenery was properly displayed. I then shut down Fsx and added My Traffic 2010 and Super traffic board and no scenery showed up. I then closed FSX and restarted with out any traffic or Super Traffic board and still got no scenerey at all. By the way addons menu has consistently showed both addon mgr and couati products to be active.

The issue might be you restarted FSX too quickly, so it wasn't closed cleanly. Try after a Windows reboot.

I've tried rebooting Windows several times and then restarting FSX but I still get no scenery only black spaces. All your other sceneries work and my addons menu shows both couati and addon mgr to be active.

Ok, this entirely discounts any possible antivirus problem or anything that is related to the software modules. If they show their menus, it means both working fine.

However, they might not be the most current version (and this *might* be caused by the antivirus, that kept the old version, but refused to install the new one). Does the Addon Manager lists KDFW in the available sceneries ?

Is KDFW installed right now ? Do you see it in the Scenery Library ?

The addon mgr lists KDFW as an available scenery and has a buy option . KDFW is in my scenery library as activated

Sorry, but what you are observing simply shouldn't happen.

Check this folder:

%APPDATA%\Virtuali

Do you have a Couatl.err file inside ? If yes, what does it contains ?

Type that, exactly as I've wrote, in any explorer window, or in the blank area in the Windows "Start" button, it should open the folder.

Thanks. I did that and I came up with Virtuali Folder with only the .ini file

Are you running FSX in one of the XP or Vista "compatibility modes" ?
