No promises that FSDT will continue to do FS9 after KDFW is released. DOING FSX has a key advantage,DX10 capable(however with recent updates and the video card I have DX11).Some of the other factors that are important graphic shaders, moving vehicles(animations e.g.) etc. Their have been some great improvements over some of the glitches and better performace.

We are considering releasing the FSX version first.
We usually took 4-5 days, or a week maximum, to port from FSX to FS9. But KDFW is entirely different, and porting it to FS9 will require to do much more work (the ground will need to be redone). It's still not certain, it might be that it will not so difficult after all but, if we find the porting would take more than 1 week, we'll release the FSX version first.

Just to be sure, this won't be a huge FPS hit will it? I'm also gonna get the 737NGX from PMDG, since it will look awesome together. I'm expecting that one will have a similar effect as the other PMDG products. This airport should have the same FPS as the other Fsdt prducts, right?
Thanks FSDreamteam Alex

It will, pretty sure. unless you'll get i7-980X. As a matter of fact, NGX is not even in beta stage and even the developers have no idea about possible FPS in the default FSX.

Going back to the original topic.
Any chance that the scenery will be released by the end of July?
Thank you.

I'm expecting that one will have a similar effect as the other PMDG products. This airport should have the same FPS as the other Fsdt prducts, right? Well, the airport can't surely increase fps which were already slow because of other installed products. And of course, since KDFW has more than 200 parking stands so, if you use AI at high complexity levels, they could bring the fps down all by themselves even if there was no scenery. We think it should work more or less them same as our other products, possibly better, because we got rid of all FS9 code, but it's also our biggest scenery to date and probably the biggest airport released for FSX so far. It might also be more dependent by the GPU than previous sceneries, because of more intensive shader usage, but this is just a guess.

Umberto, if the airport goes the opposite way in proving to be more FPS intensive than thought once it is in beta, will there be a way to make the performance scalable as far as reducing objects via the scenery complexity slider, or some additional tick boxes in the Addon Manager where maybe some object or features can be turned off for the airport?
Frankly, I can't see this airport being much more FPS intensive than ORD, but if it is, it would be nice if we would have the option to turn off some items if needed to gain performance, like all the little cars parked in the garages or other things like that.
