Again: Can't connect to simbrief.
« on: March 08, 2024, 02:44:54 pm »
Generated a flight plan in Simbrief.

This flight plan is displayed in MSFS with a different ingame panel without any problems.
But not with GSX Pro.

When I press "Reload Simbrief", nothing happens.
Not even an error message appears in the top left corner.
Of course I have entered my username and nickname in GSX Pro.

I found this line in the log
Exception1 = HTTP response code said error

I would also like to take this opportunity to point out a behavior of your programs that does not occur with any of my numerous programs.

If I want to run the fsdt installer or fsdt live update, I first have to completely deactivate the Windows Defender Firewall before the two programs start.
I have defined Couatl_Updater2.exe and Couatl_Updater.exe as exceptions in the Windows Firewall.
Nevertheless, I can only use the two programs when I deactivate the firewall.

What other exceptions do I need to define so that I can start the programs without restrictions?

As a supplement:

Here is a screenshot showing that it is possible from my system to access Simbrief.
Here through the ingame "Simbrief Panel".

I have also deactivated the Windows Defender Firewall, but without success.

Have you been able to localize the fault in the meantime?

I had this exact issue and it was because my SimBrief flight plan had expired. Have you definitely got a current and active flight plan in SimBrief?

Here is the logfile

Your log doesn't show you ever tried to Reload Simbrief, it's just indicating you started it and exited the sim, or it was made after a restart. If your problem is related to Simbrief, you must take the log just after you see the error message, which of course will be fully replicated with lots more data, on the log.

Yet I have
- started the MSFS
- just generated a new Simbrief flight plan
- clicked on "Reload Simbrief" in the GSX Main Menu.

With the same success: Can`t connect to Simbrief.

I create the current log file again.

Note:
Deactivating my malware and antivirus software in previous attempts was also unsuccessful.

Yet I have

Now you have. At least, now you finally posted a log made after you clicked Reload Simbrief, the previous log, as I've said, was like made before clicking it, or after a restart.

Checking the log, is clear what your error is: you inserted your User ID instead of your Username/Alias. Quoting the manual, in all places where it explains what you are supposed to insert as your username.

Page 32, the chapter in the GSX Settings:
Quote
The username you must type here is what is referenced in the SimBrief Account as the ALIAS.

Page 80, the chapter about Simbrief integration:
Quote
To configure it, just add your SimBrief “Alias” in the GSX Settings page. The Alias can be found by selecting the “My Account” section of the SimBrief website.[/size

And even if you never read the manual, when you hover with the mouse on the username field in the Settings, a TOOLTIP will say this:

Quote
Insert your SimBrief "Alias (Username)" here. Not to be confused with the "Pilot ID", which is numeric, and it's not the one you need to use here
