FS9 won't start
« on: May 12, 2010, 03:47:32 pm »
I installed and registered FSDreamTeam JFK, ORD & LAS on my computer.  Yesterday, I turned my computer on and started FS9.  The splash screen came up for about a minute then disappeared.  It never made it to the start menu page.  I tried several more times but the same thing happened.  Someone on FlightSim.com forum suggested I remove the sceneries and see if that helped.  I went into scenery.cfg and removed those 3 entries but nothing changed.  I recently upgraded from Vista to Windows7 64 bit, don't know if that could be an issue.

scenery.cfg doesn't have anything to do with FS9 startup. As already explained in many other threads, the most common problem for this is the antivirus:

Try to do the following:

- Unistall the sceneries and reply YES to the question "do you want to remove the addon manager?" Check you don't have any bglman*.* files in the FS9\MODULES folder. You shouldn't after uninstalling but, better check.

- Turn your antivirus OFF

- Reinstall the sceneries. DO NOT turn the antivirus ON, yet.

- Configure your antivirus to ignore the FS9\MODULES\BGLMAN.DLL

- Turn the antivirus back ON and try again running FS9.
