Buildings disappear
« on: March 21, 2010, 07:03:16 pm »
This only happens when I fly to honoulu. Everytime I start from a different airport and fly to honolulu the buildings dissappear. My addons are REX, Level D, Fsbuild, World of AI, and your KLAS, I dont know if they are the problem or what.

As already explained in other threads: do you run FSX under any of the XP compatibility modes, which some addons requires (not being fully Vista compliant) ? This seems to cause problems to FSX, which affects our sceneries.

I just had the same thing occur to me as well.  I do not run any XP Compatability modes.

I also occasionally get this with Zurich and none of your other airports.  I also own JFK, O'Hare and Ft. Lauderdale.

Do you use Active Sky Advanced ?

Does it happen at these ones as well or at PHNL only ?

Also, please check that, when buildings disappear, you still have BOTH these menus under the "Addons" menu in FSX:

"Addon Manager"

"Couatl powered plugins"

Also check, when buildings disappear, if you have this file:

%APPDATA%\Virtuali\Couatl.err

If you have it, check its content.

I run ASX.

I never have any problems with the JFK, O'Hare, or Ft. Lauderdale and I fly to JFK all the time.

I had closed FSX after landing and taxing in.  When I restarted FSX the building were all there.

Should I run into this again and have the %APPDATA%\Virtuali\Couatl.errl, or the 2 items in the menu bar, what steps would you like me to take to correct them?

Thanks for taking the time to help!

EDIT: In the addon manager can I reduce the autogen_trees_per_cell and try to reduce the demand as things display?

You should not restart FSX. As soon you see the buildings disappearing, quit from FSX without restarting, check if you have that file and (if you have it) post its content.

ok I'll do that next time.

Just to confirm, where would I find the error contents?

%APPDATA%\Virtuali

Just type this in white area of the Start button, press Enter, and the correct folder should open.
