PHNL "GHOSTING" through terrain scenery...
« on: January 25, 2010, 09:54:15 pm »
Hey guys,

Just testing out my new scenery! Loving it. However, on a test flight from PHNL to Lihue, I noticed the following. Please see attachments. Any idea what's causing this? Sort of annoying to see as VFR flights do tend to involve looking around outside the aircraft.

Any fix? Anyone else notice this?

Let's see...

In this area:

FSG-2010
F1 GE
F1 UT-USA
REX-latest version
Zinertek Ultimate Water Advanced

Cheers!

It's just an FS9 rendering issue. Happens at every airport, but it's not easy to notice, because you need to have the airport located very close to a steep change of elevation.

If you go close to PHNL, and look toward the other airport across the mountain, that is PHNG (Kaneohe), there'a a spot where it's shining through the mountain.

The screenshot below is from the *default* Innsbruck in FS9, the whole airport + runway shines through the mountain. Of course, with PHNL being so much bigger in size, it's also more noticeable.

The problem doesn't happen in FSX.

Very interesting Virtuali! Thanks for that. I never noticed this before and I fly into LOWI often. Thanks!  ;D
