For a freight dawg like myself, a quality PMDG style 1900C for FSX, and C208 Super Cargomaster, with these airports, would be heaven

That will be in the 2nd package w/ kona We haven't said anything like that. Right now, only the first two airports are officially announced. If we'll have another package or not, will be depend how much the 1st one will sell. I ask everyone to only rely to official announcements made by us, not to speculations made by other users.

Virtuali,
I know you can't say for sure, but about how much time would you give it to determine the success rate of the first package? As in, would you give it a month, two months, three months, etc...? I ask just to get an idea how long it would take before you could determine it was a huge success (which I predict it will be) and you could go ahead with a 2nd package...

I know you can't say for sure, but about how much time would you give it to determine the success rate of the first package? Usually, you can see if something succeeded or not in the first weeks. But in this case, it will be difficult, because we are also offering a 50% discount on those that purchased PHNL during the first 30 days after release. In this case, we'll need to wait to see if the product appeals on its own, and not just because it was discounted. It's a double test, actually, both for the feasibility of an eventual 2nd Hawaii package, but also for the concept of making smaller airports, which I always doubted (the few times we made them, they were huge disappointments), but we decided to give the smaller airports another chance, and I would love to be proven wrong in this case.

Well like I said, I have a feeling that the first package will be a huge success, BUT, it COULD be because it's Hawaii... a special circumstance all in its own. Would a small airport or airport package from Cali do as well as one from Hawaii? I have no idea, but I'd speculate that the one from Hawaii would do exceptionally well just because of the fact that it's so far from anywhere else and people love to island hop. Not only that, most airports from Hawaii (Lihue, Hilo, Kona, Kahului, etc...) are popular routes from the mainland US AND Japan as well...whereas Long Beach isn't as popular a destination.. Anyway, I at LEAST hope for a 2nd Hawaii package (pending the 1st one's results, of course) to fill in the rest of Hawaii's amazing destinations (and it would effectively give you guys (FSDT) complete dominence over Hawaii, as far as airport sceneries go..), but to see another small airport somewhere else such as Cali would be great as well! But for now, I'll keep my eyes on paradise!

I'd imagine no small airport will sell as well as a larger airport but hopefully the work isn't as bad (in terms of complexity and length of time) for them so it justifies the lower sales?

There's some overhead involved in releasing a scenery ( collecting documentations, setting up and coordinate the project, setup the ecommerce server, writing the installer, writing the manual, supporting users by email and replying to forum questions, and many other small things ) that is basically the same, regardless of the airport size. The total workload might be 60% of a big airport, but sales right now have been more like 1/10th or even less so, it never worked for us.

Very interesting discussion,FlyTampa recently announced they're going to model smaller airports and do more of them, less modeling per product =more products=more profit.I can see their strategy,I really feel The Quality of FSDT's products will sell themselves regardless of size,It's no secret FSDT is @ the top of the addon airport chain!
