Photoreal ground issues v5 **SOLVED**
« on: September 28, 2021, 07:06:45 pm »
Hey there,

I flew into KLAS this evening and noticed that the really blurry photoreal for the airport is showing rather than the ground textures. In previous flights, the scenery has worked perfectly. I tried reinstalling but still, it showed the photoreal.

Thank you for any assistance you can provide  :D

Are you using 4K textures in the sim ?

KLAS has been designed to run in 4K, not to increase resolution, but to increase performances, since using less 4K textures is more efficient than using many 1K/2K textures, at the same overall resolution.

Which means, if you are not using 4K textures in the sim graphic options, you are actually *reducing* the original resolution of the scenery ground textures.

Thanks for the fast response!
Yes, I am using 4K Textures in the sim. I have also checked with two of my friends who also use your KLAS scenery and both have the same photoreal blurriness that I have with 4K textures.

Check also the texture resolution in m/pixel.

I've maxed everything in the "world" section of P3D. I forgot to mention in my initial post, but all the runways are default p3d ones. It's the top priority in my scenery library, and I've tried looking in case there is any conflicted bgl files for KLAS in my prepar3d folder but didn't find anything.

We haven't changed anything in the scenery in a long while, if you are SURE it was better before, perhaps the cause is the shader modification you applied that's causing that strange blue cast in your screenshot ?

ORBX insertion points is my guess. What are they set to?

It's down the very bottom so it shouldn't be a factor

I've checked and removed any shaders. I think what might have caused the change was I use to have ORBX Socal installed and that had the orbx elevation fix which I think might have modified the taxiway colour potentially. Sorry for wasting your time! Have a pleasant day.
