significant fps drop after 10-20 min
« on: January 08, 2021, 08:04:59 pm »
when I first boot up the sim at o'hare in the PMDG 737 with ai traffic (100%), the fps are in the low 30s, which is pretty good. after about 10 to 20 minutes, my fps drops to below 20, from the same viewpoint. removing all ai traffic at this point does not seem to have any effect (ai traffic is off in the second picture). if it helps, I have an RTX 3090 with an I9 10900k at 5.1ghz.

it might not be o'hare that is the issue, but I figured I might be able to get some help.

It's possible the fps drop after a while is caused by the terminal interior filling up with passengers, since it takes a few minutes for all of them to appear. You can test if this is the case, by disabling them from the GSX Setting menu, the "Airport walkers" option.

Also, the fps target of 120 fps is probably wrong, just set it to unlimited in the sim and, eventually, limit the fps externally using the nVidia Control Panel.

Strange. Im still getting the same issues even without airport walkers. A great 30fps down to 20fps and below
