Can't see I95.
« on: December 03, 2009, 08:20:51 am »
Everyone,

Landing RWY 09L at KFLL you fly over I95. I only see the factory on my scenery, there is no I95, no highways. I see I595 to the left, but no I95, just green grass. I just bought KFLL and there is no other scenery installed at KFLL and it's number one in the priority list.

ANy clues?

Most airport developers only model what is actually on airport property, or just outside the perimeter. Where exactly is I95 in relation to the airport?

I95 passes next to the west end of KFLL. You fly over it on the approach you can see this on Google Earth

The I95 IS modeled in the scenery, but only the 3D part of it ( the big curve on the north-western tip of the airport )

This issue is: in FSX, the I95 is depicted on the ground even in the default scenery so, the 3D modeling we added perfectly matches it. Under FS9, when using the default scenery, there's no I95 so, you'll see only the 3D part that we modeled.

BUT, if one uses any kind of terrain enhancement package, like Ultimate Terrain or similar, or a photo real scenery for KFLL, the highway will surely be there, and will probably match the 3D part we modeled, just like it matched in FSX.

It has been often said that almost everybody under FS9 uses some kind of enhancement terrain product, since the default scenery doesn't really cut it anymore, considering it was designed for 1993 PC's. That's why we assumed most of FS9 users would use one of the available terrain enhancement products, so we didn't *added* anything in the FS9 version that we didn't had already in FSX.
