P3C passenger drop
« on: September 09, 2020, 11:09:54 pm »
I recently was able to embed a stairway for the L-188 and so I am now trying to do the same for the KBT-P3C. I know how to embed the stair and adjust the "X" "Y" axis so as to
position where the star (Ladder) is located so GSX know where the pax are to board/deboard. As a result, the deboard process is less then steller.
As you can see in my photos, the passengers are dropped from the aircraft and never use the stairs. To watch the animation, the passengers look confuse as to not know
where to egress. I am at the KMEM airport.  I use P3D V4.5

I've tried to relocate the X/Y axis at the base of the ladder and that did not render the passengers using the stairs, They just drop directly below the aircraft near the stair and walk from
there towards the waiting bus.  Any suggestions would be most appreciated.  Thanks

The problem is that you moved the door on the ground, which is not what you are supposed to do and will of course confuse GSX.

The door should stay at its correct place, but you should set the start and end points for the Embedded Stair, as explained at Page 54 of the manual.

I did look at your page 54 and I do not get any start/end options. Just one for the Pax 1 placement. See photo.

Assuming you have checked the box labeled "Embedded Stair", the Start/End point will appear by cycling doors, as if they were additional doors.

I do thank you for your help and you patience. I did use the "embedded stair" and from there all I see is the X/Y lines that I can set the location of the stars.

Could you please digest that cycling doors comment - I assume you mean to open/close the ladder. The door opens then another shift E + 2 key for the ladder to swing out.

I cannot do that during the placement of the stairs in GSX aircraft config mode. I read and reread the Page 54 instruction on this hoping that I'll better understand what to do to

get this start/stop functions to work for me. Having no luck getting the start/stop to function, I just raised the location of the ladder point to level with the cabin floor of the plane.

This resulted in the Passengers at least leaving the plane from where the door is but turning around and going down the ladder facing the plane.

BTW - I use both P3D V3.4 AND P3d V4.5 and the gsx program is using the 32 bit version - thought I'd have to use both the 32 and 64 bit versions. What is you take on that?

Thank you

I might add that after I used embedded stairs the next step is customized in 3D editor the screen goes to slew and no ladders can be opened/closed.

Cycling means in the airplane configuration editor. By default it's Numpad 7/9 keys.

Thanks for the info - I did find the Num 9 key and that started the start/stop session of placing the ladder location. Thought that would pretty much sort things out but to my
surprise, the passengers are now dropping to the ground below the plane and climbing on air stairs into the cabin and then exiting down the stairs. I did do a reset so as to start with
a fresh slate. If I just use the PAX 1 key the passengers will at least exit the plane where I wanted them to but going down the stairs is not so good, I know we are talking about embedded
stairs. - any suggestions is really appreciated.  I also noted that when in the start/stop mode I cannot align the pax traffic parallel to the stair rails.

Just wanted to let you know that I started at a different airport (KSAN) and start fresh again with the GSX modify aircraft slate and used the start/stop and this time it looks
about as close as I can get it for now. They are stepping a little high from the steps but I'm afraid if I try to modify this, it may get worse.
