Addon Manager Activation Issue with "Register Serial" window

Hi,

I bought GenevaX and ChicagoX (after already having ZurichX in place and running) and received registration keys via mail.

When trying to activate the products via Add-On Manager and then Register Serial oder Reinstall, the registration number input window input is hidden by a black FSX application. Whenever I try to activate the window, a black (FSX) screen seems to be in front of the registration key window.
I tried serveral times also by reinstalling AddOn Manager but did not manage to enter the serials there.

When trying to reinstall the products, 2 screens mentioning the upcoming "Register Serial" window are shown correctly. The "Register Serial" window itself is hidden and not accessible.

My OS is Windows7 64Bit.

UPDATE: I entered the registration keys directly into windows registry. After having relaunched FSX, the products have been activated correctly.
Never the less - is this the right way to register the products? Any known issues with Win7 64?

This shouldn't normally happen in FSX, because FSX as a specific way to allow a standard Windows dialog to always appear in front of its screen.

It WAS an issue under FS9, because FS9 didn't allow for this feature so, on some video drivers, we suggest in the manual to do the activation in Windowed mode (ALT+Enter), instead of Full Screen mode.

But, this shouldn't be an issue under FSX, unless you have some other 3rd party program that is "stealing" the focus, changing the ordering of Windows on the screen.

You can try the FS9 suggestion of doing the activation in Windowed mode even in FSX: it should work and, in case the dialog is still beneath the FSX screen, in Windowed mode it should be easier to bring it on top of it.

You can of course go back to Full screen, after the activation is completed.

Actually the "windowed mode" seems not to work in FSX under win7 64. FSX always is "Full Screen".
I am not sure if this is a graphics driver issue (mine is geforce GTX260) - never the less I am going to try the latest one.

That's odd: I've just tested Win 7 64 (on a Mac notebook with an nVidia 9600), and Windowed mode works just fine, just as in Vista or XP. Not only that: our registration window doesn't have the slightest issue and is perfectly visible, both in Windowed mode and in Full Screen mode.

So yes, it looks like a video drivers issue.

However, you did it correctly: the registration window doesn't do anything strange, except than simply inserting your Serial number in the registry for you so, it's doesn't make any difference, if you put it yourself with regedit.
