The comparison I was making is between the "Fate" of the project and NOT on what you've "said" or "started" which seems to change from time to time.
Wrong.
Fate doesn't have anything to do with this. Opposite to what you think, the only thing that matters, is what we said, which has ALWAYS been:
1) we would LIKE to do an airplane, but we can't until the market situation is like this so, this one has NEVER started and, we never said anything different. In your dreams, maybe...
2) we ARE working on an FSX tool, which is made by the XPOI team.
I know that your trying to make some point that the "tool" is in development BUT, exactly "HOW" are you gauging the FSX Market as a whole? If its just on your sites user downloads, then that is NOT really a accurate depiction of the facts.
Even if it's not absolutely accurate, when you have about 50% of the downloads for FS9, you simply can't say FSX has the whole market. And, we always monitored Cloud9 sales as well, that are mostly FS9, and those were always going, even when Cloud9 didn't updated their website in more than 1 year.
Besides, if all you need is financial backing, then name the price.
Any financial backing would need to recover the money spent, at some time. We simply don't think that is feasible to put the whole FSDT team working on an airplane for 1 year or more, and stopping all other releases, because there's no way to recover the costs, more so with FSX only.
If you ARE willing to take the risk, why not start your own business, recruit people, spend money, etc...? That's what free market it.
As for my earlier statements, you still haven't indicated wheather the FSX Tool is planned to be released with, before, or after PHNL/KDFW.
Since we haven't officially announced it yet, not even WHAT it is, I don't see why we should be bound by any release date. Normally, you FIRST announce a product, THEN you name the release date.
When we'll decide it's time to present it to everyone, it would mean because we'll have a clear idea of the release date.
