Hi Umberto and team,

Very well done....... simply amazing....Congrats.

I think along with REX this scenery is going to be in a league of its own.

How big of a task would it be to impliment this technique into your existing scenery KLAX, KLAS etc.

regards
John

If I'm reading the comments correctly on the preview page, what you're calling dynamic shadows is nothing more than painting shadows on textures in appropriate locations, which will swallow up more hard drive space than necessary, and couatl simply swaps them out depending on the time of day.  Most of us use weather engines like REX, that check for updates every 10 or 15 minutes, and couatl will still be displaying that 12:00 shadow when the sun is now hidden by clouds.  If couatl can run an entire program like GSX, a true dynamic shadow should be pretty easy.

Surely not. When the weather changes to rain/overcast, the scenery will display the Ambient Occlusion-only version immediately. Well, *almost* immediately: the time it takes for Simconnect to notify our program of a weather change, but it's usually less than 1 minute.

Now I know what I'm going to ask Santa for Christmas. Tell tale sign at the end of the Shadows Preview presentation that it will be available in December 2012.  Great job Vancouver design team!  This looks like an awesome product.

Even without the dynamic shadow feature, I would still buy this scenery.
