Could P3D 4.5 Hot Fix 2 help improve AI at KIAH?
« on: September 27, 2019, 12:46:24 pm »
Someone mentioned on AVSIM that with Hot Fix 2, P3D can now designate runways for landing or take-off only. Could this mean that runways 15L/R 33L/R could be designated for take-offs only, as generally happens in real life? This has been a major issue with KIAH (not FSDT's fault, obviously) because of bad FSX AI code.

The updated AFCAD is already online now on the FSDT Live Update.

Aircraft aren't using 15 L/R for take-offs, BTW. I tired setting the wind to 150/16 and ATIS is still saying only the 8's and 9 are in use.

We just closed the 15/33 runways for landing, nothing else.

KIAH runways 15L/R 33L/R is designated for take-offs only and 9, 8's 27 and 26's are for landings. It doesnt give and option at all for taking off on 15 L/R.  Also airline parking is off. There are a number of gates opened at Terminal C&E and some of my United 767's are parking at Terminal A&B. The same for Terminal A&B. There are a number of gates opened and Alaska, Spirit and Air Canada are parking in the cargo area.

As I've said in my last post, the current version of the FSDT AFCAD DOES have the runways 15s/33s closed for landings, and that's the only thing we can do.

But that's not the only thing that controls the active runway, the runway length, the presence of an ILS and of course the wind, will have an higher priority so, planes might still land on the closed runways, if the other conditions are in place.
