Compatibility with FSX SP2 released
« on: December 15, 2007, 06:16:18 pm »
Hello to all,

We have just released an update for Zurich to support the recently released FSX SP2 stand-alone package from Microsoft. This update is mandatory, otherwise FSX will crash as soon as you enter into the Zurich area, if you installed SP2.

To apply the update, just re-download the FSX installer from the website. The release has been numbered 1.2.1, to make it out from the previous version. Uninstalling 1.2 it's not really needed, but it doesn't hurt either.

As always, there are no issues whatsoever with registration and activation, since registry keys are not touched.

Note to Acceleration users: the fix is not needed if you already have Acceleration. The only thing the fix does, is to be compatibile with the free SP2 as well, so you can still install it if you want, but it wouldn't change anything for you.

The update will also make Cloud9's Orlando, XCity Rome, Bergen and Aerosoft's FlorenceX, compatible with SP2 so, if you have any of those and just installed the free SP2, you might want to use it, in the time Cloud9 and Aerosoft will update their installers as well. Note: this will only fix crashing in SP2 for Cloud9 and Aerosoft products, it will not solve some remaining issues in DX10 mode (white buildings). These will be fixed later on, with a full patch for all these sceneries, that will appear on Cloud9/Aerosoft websites.
