DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG CTD PBR update.
« on: July 24, 2019, 02:10:00 pm »
Hi,

I get these CTDs within seconds of starting at a default airport when SODE jetways are enabled, not so when SODE jetways are disabled. I also get these the moment GSX populates the gate with its objects.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Do you have a multi-monitor setup with more than a video card or a SLI setup ?

Yes, 3 monitors, 2 cards non-SLI. Centre monitor in one card and L&R ones in the other.

I'm copying a possible solution taken from another forum, also referred to multiple GPUs.

1. Manual download of older drivers using "Standard" 419.67
2. Unplug ethernet cable (should prevent Windows from search online for newer drivers)
3. Boot to safe mode
4. Execute DDU 18.0.1.5 (clean install)
5. Reboot to normal
6. Install 419.67 using custom (not express) uncheck USBC and select Clean Install
7. Reboot
8. Plug ethernet cable back in
9. NCP to set to nVidia control of color space (8bpc, RGB, Full)

However, I cannot test or verify it could be valid for your setup.

Doesn't seem to work Umberto. Do you know what is causing the problem?

I have no idea, since it seems to happen only with multiple GPUs, so I cannot replicate it, but it might possibly be a problem in the simulator itself. LM is aware of this, since that post was posted on the LM forum.

Is it Render To Texture related? As far as I can work out (from your previous advice), if I disable RTT then SODE jetways work OK but GSX parking services produce the error, and if I enable RTT, both produce the error.

Previously I was getting the error with GSX Level 2 jetways (before the PBR update). Your advice was to disable RTT and everything worked fine, although I didn’t have stand numbers. Now, like I say above, this advice still works with the jetways but the moment I activate the parking services, the error message appears.

The more I can find out about this, the more ammo i have for LM! Are you suggesting it might work without issue if I disable 2 of my 3 monitors?

My question is how do you have your monitors set up. I have a three-monitor setup and haven't run into any issues, although I'm running all three monitors on just one card, and I'm also only running the simulator on just one of the three monitors.

It's more likely caused by multiple GPUs, rather than multiple monitors.

Yes I have two GPUs, no SLI, with the centre monitor in one and the L and R in the other. Umberto, can you give me a link to the LM forum post about this issue? I can’t find it. Thanks.
