I CANT UPDATE ADDON MANAGER BY ISSUES
« on: June 25, 2019, 06:21:57 pm »
Hello everyone, during all this week, a window starts to appear in my P3D V4. I've updated with Couatl Update.exe, but nothing...still appearing. Obviously, I've have had to reinstall GSX. Important to mention that during the reinstallation, when the GSX installer, instal Addon Manager, an error appears about "advpack.dll". I can't solve this! I'm upset! Please, help!

Here the screenshots:

when the GSX installer, instal Addon Manager, an error appears about "advpack.dll".

the installation didn't complete, most likely because of antivirus interference. If the installation doesn't complete, nothing will work.

- Reboot Windows

- Configure the antivirus to exclude the whole Addon Manager folder from scanning

- Disable the antivirus.

- Clear your browser cache and download the installer again

- If you have this folder, remove it:

Documentes\GSX_Installer

- Reinstall with the antivirus DISABLED

- Be sure you don't get any errors while installing. If you have, don't even bother trying if it works, because it will surely won't, so report back.

This still appearing during the Addon Manager installation.

That's clearly an antivirus problem which doesn't have anything to do with us. If you see the screenshot you posted carefully, the error is happening when the MICROSOFT VC++ 2005 installer is running (see the title on the dialog box with the error) so, the issue is not our installer is not working. The issue is the MICROSOFT VC++ 2005 installer is not working for some reason.

It's very likely it's an antivirus problem.

Try to download and install the VC++ 2005 runtimes manually:

Install BOTH the x64 and the x86 versions.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5638
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=21254

After you install the two runtimes, reboot Windows and try the GSX installation again
