The reason could be, that you did not turn of the Firewall for the installation.
Problem could be that if your missing a font, windows will try to take one from the same family, but that would not look the same exactly, so there could be issues in displaying things in the menus, on screen. I would try to reinstall, but shutting down your antivirus / Firewall first during time of installation.
