Schopf PowerPush unit (Pushback using main landing gear)
« on: April 27, 2019, 02:14:22 pm »
Since GSX is introducing towbarless pushback tugs in the newest update, maybe they could have a look at this?

The tug is remote controlled and can only go forward/backward, and the pilot steers using NWS (while under instruction from ground crew) during pushback. This sort of gives the community what they wanted by making their own pushback paths.

towbar-less tugs where already present now they added a lift option. so far only one towbar less unit versus two different tow bar tugs one aimed at heavy aircraft and the other at smaller jets.

GSX had a towbarless truck since 2012, when it came out. It's just the new one we show in the video is more detailed, and we have a larger model, while before we only had a mid-size model, so if you only use heavy airplanes, you might not have the chance to see it.

Yes, we know about Taxibot but, I think it's best to add the custom pushback route capability first, which will improve every pushback vehicles, and then possibly add the Taxibot.

First rule of programming is always trying to solve the most general case first, and then look at the exceptions.
