Clarification on ENG startup
« on: February 17, 2019, 11:49:55 am »
Hi all,
When starting engines, the ground operator at times notifies “rotation”, “ignition” during the process. But not always.
What are the conditions for this to happen? (before/after/during Pushback, start before/after ..)
Or is this MCE business instead?

Thank you for your clarifications,
Giorgio

GSX-2, MCE, PMDG 737NGX, Win10 Professional, P3Dv4.4.

This sound more like the PDMG callouts, which I have disabled on mine.

Do you pushback by the the GSX or by the PDMG option?

Never used the PMDG pushback. It is either MCE or GSX.

This is the Mechanic on MCE that makes those announcements.

Yes, it is his voice, but why not under all conditions at startup?

Thanks for your comment

Hmmmm not sure - I have FS2Crew so only use MCE on the A320, 757 and 787 and he makes the announcements on each of those aircraft. Make sure when you load MCE, the option 'Engine Callouts' is selected.

Maybe post on AVSIM under the MCE section?

Thanks for the comment.
I thought a reply from GSX would be an option ...

Not sure how much more we could add than it has already been posted.

Not everything you see on ground is controlled by GSX but, since there is a published interface that 3rd party add-ons can use to know the GSX servicing status, they can add their own things to the process, so you might assume it's being done by GSX (because things happening in relation to it), but it's not. MCE is surely one of the products that interfaces with GSX and reacts to it, and I guess the way it does is explained on its own documentation.

In all the time I have been using GSX, never once heard the push-back crew utter 'rotation' ;D
