D Gate AI parking update July 2009

Just a FYI I returned from Las Vegas this past weekend and they had some changes at the D gate parking for Airlines. Also on a side note the New Terminal just behind the D gates is coming along they have the entire shell up and ¾’s of he roof on. The New Terminal is scheduled to open in 2011 and so far on schedule.

Here is what I was able to see while we were waiting for our flight to head home. The biggest moves are American and Northwest. Alligiant had aircraft parked at gates D1-D14 while we were in Vegas we did not see any G4 aircraft parked in the remote spots so maybe they are parking them for now because of the new terminal construction.

Delta & Northwest- D32, D34, D36, D38, D40, D41, D42
American Airlines (AMR) - D35, D37, D43
Air Tran- D50
United Airlines-D51-D56
Continental- D19, D20, D21
Frontier-D17
Alaska- D25, D26
Allgiant- D1-D14

This is pretty much right. I don't see any over by G4 when I head down there to planespot/listen to ATC. It used to be that AAL would use G4 along with SCX and National (ROK) and when they were around, and UAL had the gates that AAL has now.

I wouldn't be surprised if VRD moves down to the D gates as well as HAL. Especially HAL; they really wouldn't need the Int'l terminal as they'd clear customs in Hawaii. This would free the 1 - 2 gates there for VOI when they start up service to Vegas. FFT will probably add more service back as soon as the RAH takeover is complete, meaning that G4 is going to become lucrative real soon.

Gates D5 - D14 have been closed to cut down on costs.

I am uploading an edited AFCAD from MikeS all I did was adjusted the parking to reflect the current parking at McCarran I opted to assign Alligiant to D1-D14 to keep them from parking at GA and Cargo locations since D5-D14 are shut down (until someone moves to them maybe US Airway since they do not need all the gate space anymore over at A & B). I also closed 25R to landing aircraft and kept 25R for departures to help the backup on the ground you can always uncheck close 25R if you want.

Just right click and "save as" it's a bgl file that goes in the FSDT\Las Vegas\scenery folder
