GSX speed
« on: December 10, 2018, 11:55:54 pm »
is there any way to increase the speed when modify/moving ground vehicle/equipment ? its so freakin slow, i mean its good for precision and stuff, but it would be better that we can increase/decrease the speed.

thanks

We use the standard Slew keys in the editor, in order not to steal more keys than it's necessary from the sim, so there aren't any spare keys left, unless we choose to read the keyboard in a non-standard way (bypassing Simconnect), which would then cause a number of problems to other addons that use similar methods, since by going non-standard, there's no way to know if other addons took that key already.

If standard slew keys are used, then multiple presses of the forward direction, causes an  increase in speed. Likewise reducing speed is multiple presses. You could have a configuration that was a multiplier (number of prezses) that could then controll the forward and backward movement.
Thanks

We can't do that, because the whole GSX is an external Simconnect client so, simulating that behavior would require spamming the sim with too many commands in a very short time, and the speed won't be very predictable, since it would change with the frame rate.

Which brings to a suggestion: edit your parking with a default airplane that is very light on fps and, possibly, reduce the graphic settings while editing. The higher the frame rate, the higher the cursors will move, since any Simconnect application cannot update faster than the frame rate.
