Tiller still shakes in PMDG airplanes
« on: July 06, 2019, 05:53:02 pm »
I believe a fix for this was included in the changelog, but the tiller on the 747/777 still shakes during pushback.

We fixed the vibrations of the plane itself, but there's nothing we can do about the tiller animation.

As explained so many times on the forum, it's only something that PMDG can fix, by checking if GSX is pushing, and if they run some simulation of the actual hydraulic forces that acts on the front gear (which is clear they do, otherwise there wouldn't be any shaking to begin with), this must be turned off while GSX is pushing just like a real bypass pin would work.

We only found by accident, thanks to an user report, that sending the key command to start a default Pushback (shift + P), fixed the airplane vibrations, indicating PMDG IS detecting the default pushback, because they *are* doing something to their own simulation to prevents shaking with the default pushback so, we are just doing that, nothing more, assuming that, whatever PMDG needs to turn off to prevent the shaking with the default pushback, would work also in our case. And it works, at least partially, since the airplane itself no longer vibrates now, which was of course the most annoying issue, the tiller it's just cosmetic.

Of course, FS Labs, Aerosoft, and Leonardo, all recognize GSX pushback properly, and behave exactly as if a real life bypass pin would be inserted, but we cannot force everybody to update their software to cooperate with GSX, if they don't see the value of it.
