Black squares with trees in scenery.
« on: June 20, 2009, 08:06:43 pm »
Installed kfll for FSX -

1. No airport buildings

2. Scenery around airplane black squares with a few trees - affects all areas of scenery in FSX.

What happened and how do I fix it?

KFLL buildings OK now but all FSX scenery completely screwed up.
I understand this is a tree texture issue. Had natural trees 2.0 installed.
Returned to original textures but they must have been corrupted.
Where are the originals on the FSX disks?

Somewere inside one of the .CAB files, you can use something like Winrar to look inside a .CAB archive and extracts files.

Ran a complete repair of FSX and  Acceleration -NO CHANGE -

Black squares in area of airplane I'm flying - affects all areas of scenery in FSX.

All ran fine before installing KFLL.

Found this post from 2008:

The 'black square' around trees sounds like you have scenery designed
for FS9 that uses a technique that is not supported by FSX.

I've seen that on a few sceneries I've 'imported'. The only 'fix' is
to identify the files that contain the trees and remove those files
or if the trees are embedded in the main file, disassemble the BGL
and see if you can remove the tree statements in the SCASM code.
Not something for a novice or faint of heart....

Wonderful!

Removed KFLL - NO CHANGE.
