Script Runtime Error
« on: October 14, 2018, 11:39:58 pm »
I've been getting a FSDT Live Updater Error when

"Checking local files for Updates, Updating GSX Scripts"

"Runtime Error (at 183:1932) Out of Range".

I've updated to GSX v1.9.9.11 v2.5.09 and still get the same.

- Configure the antivirus to exclude the Addon Manager folder.

- Be sure no antivirus or firewall is blocking the download in that folder or is not blocking the updater.

- Try again.

I've been trying to get FSDT Live Updater to work for over a year now. I'm always getting this

https://i.gyazo.com/69aa4fa626abf3cdf1aab59e74749551.png

I've turned off all the Firewall settings and all the Windows Defender Virus settings. (My only anti-virus).
I purchaced and installed a new modem & router. I've included into the Windows Firewall & Windows anti-virus Exclusion the:

Couatl_Updater.exe
Couatl_Updater2.exe
Couatl Scripting Engine for FSX/ESP
AddOn Manager Folder

Every single other mfr of scenery software that has download capability works. ie ORBX, Aerosoft, FlightBeam etc..  I'm sure the problem is a setting that is incorrect in my system but I'm at a loss to find that one setting. I've deleted and reinstalled the Standalone Manager and GSX2 more times than I can remember. I'm almost to the point of uninstalling my 20 purchased FSDT products. Is it possible to get FSDT to log onto my computer to help. I'm willing to pay for help.

Are there specific ports on my Router that need to be open?

All those exclusions are totally unnecessary. Not only that, neither Windows Defender nor the default Windows firewall requires any special configuration.

I only excluded the whole Addon Manager folder in Windows Defender, but NOT because Windows Defender has a problem with our software (it doesn't), only in order to speed up loading, so Windows Defender won't try to check all files, slowing down the system.

It's possible your problem is caused by ANOTHER software, unrelated to Windows Defender or the default Windows firewall. Check all the other software products you might have installed that might have something to do with downloads, like anti-spyware, 3rd party antivirus, 3rd party firewalls, etc.
