Visual Docking Guidance System vs. Marshaller
« on: May 16, 2018, 03:47:07 pm »
hi there,

I am confused and couldn't find an answer in this forum:
When I land on a big airport (i.e. taxi2gate-EDDM or flytampa-LOWW) and taxi to my selected gate, there's always also a marshaller standing there (sometimes on the ground, sometimes on a ladder) although visual docking guidance systems are available and seem to be working.
Do I need to "turn off" the marshaller somehow?

I upgraded from FSX (where I used AES which automatically puts marshallers only on positions where VDGS are not available....)

The VGDS is coming from the scenery, and the marshaller is coming from GSX, since GSX cannot possibly know automatically the scenery has its own VGDS without a customization for that airport.

Since you were used to AES, such customizations required payment for each airport, in the form of credits.

Instead, with GSX, you can tell it yourself about an airport the first time you use it, with the parking customization page, which has an option to disable the marshaller.
