Terrain problems and no terminal buildings **SOLVED**
« on: December 26, 2017, 12:48:35 am »
I'm experiencing the same problems described in earlier posts.  My version of Couatl_updater2.exe is 4.0.0.17.  In addition, I'm receiving this error message:

Please advise.  Thank you.

Have you installed GSX, as suggested in this thread, just below your post ?

No, I was not aware GSX was required to display KIAH properly.  I've just recently converted to P3Dv4 from FSX, and GSX wasn't needed when running FSX.  What changed?  Frankly, I don't fly airliners, so GSX does not interest me.

Edit to add:  I have installed the GSX freeware version and KIAH displays normally now.  May I ask is there a time limit for using GSX freeware?  The only reason I would keep it installed is so that FSDT's airports display normally without any abnormalities.  Thank you.

Before, GSX was required to have Docking system (at airports that have them, like KLAX, KJFK, etc. ) so, even if it wasn't really required, you would miss a lot of features if you didn't install GSX.

Now it's required even for jetways, since we used a combination of GSX+SODE to replace the old FSX jetways with the far superior SODE jetways, and the way the program works, there's no way we could create such jetways without GSX installed.

Since GSX has always entirely and totally free to use at our airports, and it was already basically a requirement to have docking system, we assumed everybody would have it installed it by now, at our airports.

Of course it does.

The free GSX never had a time limit. It was only limited to being usable on 3 default airports and with all FSDT airports, that's why being a mandatory requirement now it's really not a problem.

Thank you, Umberto, for your informative reply.  I should have read the product description more carefully, I suppose.   :D
