FSX - GSX KCLT Menu: Disable / Enable compensate object altitude

What does it do? What is the effect on performance?

In order to prevent ground flickering when using non-legacy ( FS8 ) ground polygons, all our sceneries have ground polygons that raise a bit from the ground depending on the viewing distance and altitude.

This fixed the flickering, but resulted in the annoying side effect that from a distance, some buildings would end up covered by the ground.

So, in KCLT, KMEM and KSDF, we raise *all* objects together, which will fix all the visual problems. However, this might have some effect on performances, not really fps, but more like stuttering, due to the higher number of commands we must send to the sim via Simconnect.

So, that option disable the feature, so only the ground polygons (which it's just a single object to send commands to) will raise, resulting in a much smoother flight, because we put much less strain on the sim with less commands sent.

This is only relevant to FSX. Under Prepar3D 3 and 4, we used the native P3D SDK, which allows for ground polygons to work normally in layers, without flickering and without requiring them to be raised, so the issue doesn't exists there.
