Simple question... get a life, both of you.

Bruce, was that really necessary?

You knew what he meant when you posted your "simple question."  I don't know if you were trying to be funny or not, but remember, it is hard to tell emotion through text on a forum. Wink  As others said, it came off as being "nit picky."  If you weren't trying to be, I apologize.

I've always thought it funny when people judge people in a forum by how many posts they've posted...  As if that's supposed to mean something to anybody in real life or give them authority over someone else...  It's those people that truely need to "get a life" Undecided...and it's a shame this topic has branched off into this...instigating parties, bow your heads in shame.  Go on...lol. You both made it personal when you attacked me, instead of the comment.  Disagree with what I say, but when you attack me personally, expect me to defend my right to say it.

a second attempt to get this topic back on track...  Roll Eyes

It's great to hear the highway bridge will be made. It's an iconic part of landing at FLL....... And it ends up in all your approach shots  Cheesy  A mate of mine caught this absolute beauty there in FEB whilst visiting from the UK:

Sorry Bruce! Just givin ya a hard time. How is that a question?? Kiss

Also, if I may. The terminal windows in FSDT products would look much better if they had a reflective texture similar to the FlightZone Portland. instead of the matte look that is most common in the FSDT sceneries. Would be cool if this up coming product had window reflections. Lookin good!

All our sceneries have textures with glass and reflection effects. In FSX, of course, because only FSX supports real specular and reflection maps.

Since FS9 can't do any of this, what we are left with is the base diffuse material coming from FSX, without the specular/reflection/bump map. We don't recreate the textures specifically for FS9 to fake that effect because, as we said many times (too many times...) the FS9 version is just a port of the FSX one, stripped of what FS9 doesn't support.

That's good to know as I haven't seen a FSDT product in FSX. This something to look forward to when switching to FSX in the future! I guess the screenshots can't display the reflection which is why I never noticed it. Thanks!

Yes, of course. Since the reflections use dynamic environment mapping, and specular depends on light incidence (as bump mapping does), to the effect, you need to see the scenery in motion, because it keeps changing. A screenshot can't show the effect properly.

Virtuali,

... you need to see the scenery in motion, because it keeps changing. A screenshot can't show the effect properly.

Could you do an animated .gif screenshot to show that effect properly?
