Just in case it helps anyone here, I used OP's the first configuration but I took a different approach, I copied only the exit and cargo door portions of the config file, and left the [aircraft] section intact from the provided QW gsx config.

Everything is working perfectly for me on both -8 and -9 models. Might be worth a try if anyones still having problems.

The original QW backup gsx configs should still be in the (p3d root)\SimObjects\Airplanes\QualityWings 787-8 and SimObjects\Airplanes\QualityWings 787-9 folders.

I am not sure i understand what you mean
I checked the original QW787-8 and 787-9 GSX.cfg and the [aircraft] part is the same than in "Captain Kevin" modified cfg on this thread, so i don't see how keeping the original [aircraft] part will change
anything...

I'm not sure if this makes a difference or not, but there is a slight difference in the aircraft section, Capt. K version has a line specifying "preffered exit=0".  In the QW supplied version that line does not exist.

I don't know if that's the reason that the rest of the config works flawlessly for me, but that's what I did, and the thing works. Have you tried it?

Here's my first time testing this in P3D V4, Flightbeam KSFO, SODE 1.6.3. Looks like it works fine on my end for both the 787-8 and 787-9.

Here's ImagineSim KATL. Also works fine on my end.

Kevin,
I also tested with sode 1.6.3 and P3Dv4.2

The main problem is still there. Door R1 keeps asking to be opened even when it is opened and the service is not done

I tried it and it does not work.
Anyway this gsx.cfg behave in a strange manner. When i first used KEVIN's cfg the only problem i had was this service R1 asking for opening the door and nothing happened when i opened it.
Went back to original cfg whic worked as it is supposed too.

Then I tried again the exact same Kevin's cfg posted here and now : gate R1 one still does not understand when gate is open but also the bulk cargo loader is not showing and i got small cars instead of loader showing at service doors.
All this with the exact same kevin's cfg that i used before.   ??? :o ::)

Okay, THAT makes even less sense. That being said, if THAT'S happening, I'm really not sure what more I can do for you since obviously something's wonky there, and I haven't run into any issues on my end.

With all due respect, I think what you meant was that you tried it and it did not work for you. I was only sharing what what worked for me

I put together a quick video showing that it did work for me if you're interested https://youtu.be/BDP6tcxxqgwin .

Anyway, I'm sorry it didn't work out for you, and I hope you find a solution.

And at the same time thanks to Capt. K for his time-saving contributions.

Kevin your settings work for FSDT KIAH, the only problem I have is that baggage process never finishes. I have tested so many times and I'm not sure what's wrong. Refueling, Catering always completes successfully, but whenever I board or deboard the plane, and after that process it complete, it will automatically start the baggage load/unloading process, and after the trucks finish and move back away from the plane, it still shows baggage load/unload is still in progress. Any ideas on what is making it not want to complete?

Might want to have a look at this thread. It seems other people were having this issue with other planes, so somehow I doubt the GSX configuration has anything to do with it.

Hey guys,

I seem to have the small catering vans problem only with the 787-8. Also, there is no cargo loaders nor stairs. Could you please help me out?

Thanks in advance

Thanks Kevin! For those having issues, this is what I found works perfectly for me on both the -8 and -9. Kept the 2 boarding doors. But now there are no catering issues where doors are not recognized, no small vans, and no never-ending boarding. Also, I removed the bulk cargo because it was conflicting with the L4 staircase, and I reverted the catering doors to R2 and R4.

Guys

All the issues have to do with the change of local variables QW use in their gauge to manage door opening/closing.

Here is my GSX config for 787-900 :

[aircraft]
nosegear = 24.02
refueling = 0
iscargo = 0
trafficcones = 1
preferredexit =  0
wingrootpos = 3.01 3.23 0.49
wingtippos = 26.89 -10.32 3.00
fuelpos = -16.94 -2.30 1.50
waterpos = -0.01 -20.02 -1.32
lavatorypos = -0.01 -8.57 -1.91
engine1pos = -9.95 5.58 -1.35
engine2pos = 9.95 5.63 -1.33
engine3pos = 0.00 0.00 0.00
engine4pos = 0.00 0.00 0.00

[exit1]
pos = -2.13 23.14 0.58 9.00
code = 1
name = Door L1

[exit2]
pos = -2.60 11.08 0.58 -1.00
code = 2
name = Door L2

[exit3]
remove = 1

[exit4]
pos = -2.39 -19.53 0.64 -8.70
code = (L:DoorL4, bool)
name = Door L4

[service1]
pos = 2.46 23.15 0.65 -9.50
code = 3
name = Door R1

[service2]
pos = 2.81 11.19 0.65 -0.50
code = (L:DoorR2, bool)
name = Door R2

[cargo1]
pos = 1.77 18.54 -1.24 -0.80
code = 4
name = Forward Cargo Door
uldcode = AKE

[cargo2]
pos = 1.71 -13.21 -1.24 -0.80
code = (L:QW_CargoDoor_Aft, enum)
name = Aft Cargo Door
uldcode = AKE

[cargomain]
pos = -1.54 -17.63 -1.29 -12.00
code = (L:QW_CargoDoor_Bulk, bool)
name = Bulk Cargo Door
uldcode = BELT

Please note that the "code =" line is different for every single door.

The gsx.cfg has to be put in the root folder of the aircraft.

Keep in mind that if you change the door configuration with the graphical editor, it will create another gsx.cfg file in the AppData\Roaming\Virtuali\Airplanes folder that will override the one in your root aircraft folder.

Hope this helps/

This is my 1st visit here (Virtuali`s tip).
I have P3Dv4.5 & QW787-8 -9. Updated GSX Level 2 to the latest (and huge) update.
EHAM gate F6 everything seems to work (refueling+catering+boarding) until all passengers are boarded. Then GSX keeps warning to close Door 4L although I did it already.
Any idea?
